  I have always enjoyed my visits to the Pickers Hut and Top Block Wines. Most recently the 2016 Long Lunch was great. Every course was a gourmet foray across the Riverland and down the Murray, where the freshest and best regional ingredients were sourced for every course, of which there were many and varied. My only regret was that this scrumptious sojourn had to end at all.

  Thanks for a fantastic stay. The accommodation was perfect for us, set off the beaten track but still within arms reach of everything we wanted to see. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.

  The accommodation at The Pickers Hut is a period rendered brick house that has been renovated inside to be comfortable and modern. From the front veranda, once you get past the shade trees, hammock and wood fired oven, you’ll realise that you’re on a subtle but significant hill, sounded by vineyards in all directions. It’s secluded, spacious, serene and beautiful. The owner Bruce is always helpful as he is friendly.

  Edited: Since posting this review I've been contacted by the property owners who were sincerely apologetic. They explained that they had some water problems that may have contributed, which I accept. They also advised that they would look into the issues raised and address them. That's good news and I wish them well - if Google would allow I'd increase this to 3 stars based upon their customer service and intentions.

  We have been here twice now, and just love it. The Picker's Hut is the perfect location to explore nearby towns and sites in the Riverland. We go Kayaking, swimming, hiking and fishing and then come back to a great setting and cook our dinner in the wood oven whilst enjoying a glass of Top Block. Bruce, Leah and their 2 daughters are delightful. You could not meet a nicer family. They will go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and fun!

  The photos all look nice, the setting is excellent and the place is well equipped. However, it's badly let down by lack of cleanliness (bad smell, dirty carpets/bathroom) and is uncomfortable (bed and couch in particular). It doesn't need the latest and greatest, but what it has needs to be well kept and in line with the description and price, which it isn't in our view. It's so bad that we found another place to stay for the second night - we've stayed in many places and never done that before. There are far better places to stay in the Riverland for the same price or less.
